Kroll Connect
Kroll Connect is the one place where the workspace is linked to the accounts the business already uses, and to the chat channels that reach the assistant from a phone. It answers three questions at any moment:
- Which services are connected right now?
- What is each service allowed to do?
- When did it last sync, and did it work?
Open it from Connect in the left menu, or from the connection chip on the Dashboard.
The header
- Kroll Connect — the section name, with Connections · permissions · sync underneath.
- A chip counting the connected services.
- Last sync … — how long ago the most recent sync finished.
- Today — returns to the Dashboard.
The summary row
| Cell | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Connected | Services with a working, verified connection |
| Needs access | Services waiting on an approval or a credential you do not hold |
| Available | Services that could be connected but are not yet |
| Writes enabled | Permissions that allow the app to create something in that service |
Writes stay off until a permission is enabled and an action is approved. The column counts what is allowed, not what has been sent.
Services
Each service is a card with the same shape:
- the service name and what it is used for;
- a status chip;
- the account that is connected, when there is one;
- the permissions currently granted, in plain words;
- when it last synced;
- the actions for that service.
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | Verified; sync has run | Nothing. Use Sync now to check again |
| Not connected | Configured and ready to connect | Select Connect |
| Setup required | The workspace has no credentials for this service yet | Ask your administrator to finish setup |
| Error | A connection exists but the last check failed | Select Reconnect, or read the error on the card |
| Requested | An access request was sent and is awaiting approval | Wait for the workspace administrator |
| Not used | Optional service left switched off | Leave it, or enable it if the team needs it |
Setup required never means “connected in a limited way”. It means the service cannot be used yet. There is no stand-in connection.
Managing a service
Manage opens the permission list for that service. Turn a permission on or off and select Save.
- Turning a permission off takes effect immediately. The next sync no longer reads that data.
- Turning a new permission on requires reconnecting the service, because the provider has to grant it. The app tells you this instead of pretending the old grant covers the new permission.
- The MLS has no permission list. It is read-only by design; Manage shows the feed instead.
Disconnect clears the stored credentials, the account label and the granted permissions for that service. The audit log keeps the event; it never keeps the credential.
Chat channels
Below the service cards, Kroll Connect lists the chat channels:
- Dashboard chat — the assistant panel inside the app. It needs no setup.
- Telegram — long polling by default, or a webhook.
- WhatsApp — the number linked as a device, the same way WhatsApp Web works.
A channel card shows its status, the linked chats and whether replies are on. Manage holds the replies toggle, the access policy, the link code and the linked-chat list. Chat channels do not read business data on their own; they carry the same assistant that runs in the panel.

Capabilities
The capability table compares every service on the same terms:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Sync | What can be read |
| Create | What the service allows the app to create when a write is approved |
| API | The interface the connection uses |
| App authorization | Whether the app must be approved by an administrator |
| Sign-in (SSO) | Whether the service can also be used to sign in |
| Gate | The approval needed before anything is written |
An empty Create cell means there is no write path for that service. The MLS is the clearest example: it is read-only by design.
Sync activity
The bottom of the page lists recent events: connections, syncs, permission changes, disconnects, sign-ins, assistant conversations opened, and chat channel activity. Each row names the actor, the action, the target and the time.
This is the same audit trail the workspace keeps for every account action. Use it when something looks wrong: the last successful sync, and the error that followed it, are both visible here.
Before you connect
- Have the account credentials for the service, or ask the workspace administrator to complete setup.
- Connect one service at a time, run Sync now, and confirm the card shows Connected and a fresh sync before moving on.
- Connecting does not move any business content into the workspace; sync reads metadata. See Data and privacy.
